The Plane of Immanence
The Plane of Immanence is an interactive app that allows a group of participants to form a “music concrete ensemble”. The app presents a novel interface that can be used to form performative schemas involving various manipulations of field recordings and audio files of musical snippets. Looping, granular synthesis, filtering, randomizing, and various other glitches are applied to source material. The user experience of the app provides a rumination on remembering/forgetting and the various interrelations between webs of sonic recollection. If you are in Austin, sign up here to join the group!
