Chronology Protection Conjecture

For this installation piece, I hacked a Tascam 4 track recorder to allow midi control of the playback speed and direction of custom made looping cassette tapes. The same controller also affected a projected image of Amelia Earhart, which was glitched in sync with the sonic manipulations. The tape loops being rather delicate, a perceivable degradation of the audio could be heard as participants continued to manipulate and glitch the image of Earhart —a reflection on the mutable.
